General Information
To begin, post a thread and include which fishing rod you'll be using (I'll get to the different kinds in a moment) and if you're using bait (I'll talk about that later). Then, roll the die (in the same post!). If you didn't get the correct roll, post saying so (this way staff members know to close the thread). If you did catch something, roll three dice and add up the total to figure out which Pokemon you hooked (Pokemon values are towards the end of this thread).
Next, look up the Pokemon you caught and see how long of a chain you'll need to complete in order to catch it. Different rods have different ways of chaining, so make sure you read up on how your rod works. "Chaining" is getting certain numbers in a row...the Old Rod, for example, chains even numbers. That means if you got a Pokemon who required a chain of three, you'd need to get three even numbers in a row. If you got any odd numbers, you'd fail to capture the Pokemon.
So, basically, if you found a Pokemon needing a chain of four, you'd roll four dice (in the same post, please). If you were using the Good Rod, which chains odd numbers AND the number 2, you'd need to get any numbers except for 4 and 6.
If you've captured a Pokemon, PM a staff member to give it to you. You can only try fishing ONCE a day, even if you fail.
You can buy fishing rods in the Official Store, or from someone with an Item License. The Old Rod is free, however. You can also buy bait, which will cut down the required chain amount of a Pokemon by 1 if you use it ahead of time.
